Make create posting form (text vs document options) clearer?

Some design/technical solutions that occur to me:
* Add an "or" before "Share a document"
* Make a separate button for "Share a document" (don't like this - premature commitment, and confusion)
* Preserve content between two tabs (either by submitting form via get on tab click, or making tab click some java script hide/show function) - my favouritebut of course there are more

When Paul went to do his first upload he got confused by the two tabs: he thought they were additional (write post, now shared document).
He entered title+text in the write post part, switched to the Share a document, selected the document and entered a title+short description of the document.
After he clicked upload, he was surprised that the "posting text and title" had been "wiped out" by the document's title & short description.It wasn't obvious to him that the two tabs were alternatives rather than additions.
