look at non-youtube based embed codes - they are coming out nulled (black bar) - because of overzealous whitelisting of tags?
at minimum would be good if the user got some feedback if the embed codes are likely to be nulled (could do an (ajax-y) preview maybe? or just an (ajax-y) status to see if it could display the embed or not, with a suggestion to just paste the url if not)
